TAKE; on tour
TAKE; a Dance in the Park’, directed by Rachel Freeman and performed by Eleni Edipidi, Jess Allen, Rose Payne, celebrated a rich and colourful history of live outdoor performance through the eyes of three remarkable 19 century women, Emma Darwin, Hesba Stretton and Lotty Burne. It toured to D.vercity European Festival of Disability Arts and Culture in Preston and Lancaster, Open Arms Festival in Craven Arms Community Garden, Shropshire, and Liberty Festival in Trafalgar Square, London. It then continued to tour alongside a solo work ‘Sugar’ performed by Sally Edwards ‘Mixing the metaphorical and physical realities of being carried through life, as a norm in infancy, a challenge in teenage years, with mixed meaning in adulthood, featuring one woman, her wheelchair and a whole lot of sweetness’.
The tour took in the Unity Festival at Cardiff Millennium Centre and VSA Festival, Washington D.C. - see international work.
