Catch: Exposure05 Festival November 2005
CATCH was presented as part of the Exposure05 Festival (bringing you the ultimate in worldwide deaf and disability arts) on November 11th at the Lillian Baylis Theatre, Sadlers Wells, London
CATCH defies conventions as the all female cast perform a fifteen minute aerial work that guarantees to inspire and entertain. Directed by American choreographer, Jess Curtis, founder of Physical Gravity Entertainment and winner of the 2002 Edinburgh Fringe First for his piece “fallen”, CATCH builds upon the success of his previous work with Blue Eyed Soul adding a new dimension to disability dance by taking the dancers off the ground, once again disorientating and manipulating dance as we know it.
CATCH suggests that fragility and strengh are of equal beauty that dis-abilities combine to become virtuosic and that contact with another body or object changes our movement potential.
