LIKE Youth Dance
Blue Eyed Soul Dance Company is pleased to present LIKE Youth Dance - a programme of local out of school dance activity for disabled and non-disabled people aged 5-19 in Telford and Wrekin and Shropshire (2010-11) and continuing in Telford 2011-12. We are now building a core of enthusiastic young people who want to work creatively with dance.
Sucessful projects include a partnership with SpArC Life at Bishops Castle to deliver 2 programmes of aerial dance, and an aerial project in Oswestry. Exciting digital dance projects collaborating with media artists and experimenting with new technologies. Regular after school clubs from ages 5 - 16. Fusions of street dance and contemporarly dance. And a performance at Telford Dance Festival. See our LIKE Youth Dance facebook page for photos, future event updates, and to add yourself as a fan!
Participants in digital project ‘my community, my place’.
A weekly dance club for disabled children aged 5-8 years took place at Severndale school in Shrewsbury. Children explored creative dance movement, with freedom of expression.
Envison Dance Group runs on a weekly basis at Telford - a fusion of funky street and creative contemporary dance, with Blue Eyed Soul Dance and Transit-Trix Dance. It’s a fun, friendly group, giving those involved a range of skills and techniques to create their own dance routines. They will be performing at Telford Culture Fest on 23rd July 2011, and Telford Dance Festival at The Place Oakengates on 10th February 2012.
