Education & Training Policies
OUR AIMS
Our aim is to bring together disabled and non-disabled participants in a positive, creative and supportive environment. Valuing perceived difference and everyone’s contribution collectively and individually.
The Company believes that inclusive dance can help develop many areas of learning and understanding, encompassing: -
- The ability to communicate ideas and emotions creatively
- Awareness of physicality and movement of the individual and those around them
- Performance and observation/audience skills
- Sensitivity and awareness of a group dynamic
- Self-confidence and self-esteem
- Development of consideration and cooperation between teacher, participant and audience
- Social skills
- Increased understanding of impairment and disability
Through taking dance performance into education and youth settings the Company aims to provide positive role models for all and to encourage everybody to take an active part. This is particularly important to those identified as reluctant participants in physical exercise; e.g. young women and the physically disabled.
